This Alex 103 is quite a player. It has a tremendous sound and plays great in all registers; it is very agile and is quite a delight to play! I find this particular horn to be quite clean in articulations, and have especially great articulations. The soft side of this horn speaks quite easily, but it still can play at a powerful fortissimo without the sound breaking up. These are traits of the Alexander 103, and one of the reasons it is one of the most popular horns amongst professionals worldwide.
 
This particular horn is in great used shape. It was made in West Germany (the engraving on the bell flare reads "Made in W-Germany"). It has a hand hammered, fixed bell, and has great valves (they have excellent compression). Everything works perfectly as it should. This is a tremendous truly professional horn that I can recommend to anyone looking for a great instrument! It has been professionally cleaned and serviced in my shop and is ready to play!
 
Of course it has its little dings and dents throughout as well as some scratches and some lacquer wear, but these things are purely cosmetic. There are a few minor scratches in the bell flare where someone probably nicked it with a dent rod taking some dents out of the bell flare. While it is unfortunate that this happened, this is purely cosmetic and honestly lets someone get a great horn at a lower price.
 
The original 'alligator skin' case is included. It has an interesting feature of a tie-down inside the case for the horn. The case is in used, but excellent condition for its age. No mouthpiece is included.
