Repair Services
The services I offer are below. I'm set up as a French horn specific shop but can do repairs on other brass instruments. All repair services are by appointment only. If you are interested in having your horn serviced or repaired, contact me.
Chemical Cleaning
I clean horns using a chemical cleaning method and some sonic cleaning. The chemicals I use have been carefully selected and are completely safe for the metal of horns and the environment. Cleaning includes complete disassembly, degreasing, cleaning, oil and lubing with high-quality synthetic oils, valve alignment, and replacement of corks, bumpers, and springs as needed. Instruments are thoroughly inspected and playtested to ensure they are working to the best possible level before being returned to the customer.
Prices:
Single horns: $150
Double Horns: $200
Triple horns: $250
General Repairs
I offer dent removal, solder repair, patch work, and part replacement (when possible).
Price: $100/hour + parts
Lacquer Stripping
This includes a complete disassembly of the horn, stripping the lacquer, and buffing/polishing the horn to a shine.
Price: $700
Amado Water Key Installation
$75 per waterkey
Customization
I can do some customizations for horns (such as leadpipe replacement). Customization jobs will be considered on a case by case basis. I will only accept a job that is within my capabilities and my shop's tooling.
