This beautiful Yamaha YHR868 Custom horn is a unique and beautiful instrument! From Yamaha's custom line of horns, this is a top-of-the-line handmade instrument. It is also unique in that it is, aside from the inner slides and slide/valve casings, an all yellow brass horn. Many of these horns were nickel silver with yellow brass bells, but this one has a the yellow brass body.
 
The bell throat is large, so you get a really big warm sound. The yellow brass, though gives the sound a lot of color. This horn plays with quite a bit of power, is very smooth, and really is a joy to play.
 
The valves are quick and light on this horn. They have great compression. All of the slides work properly. The horn has been completely cleaned and serviced in my shop and is ready for many years of heavy play!
 
There are two small patches on the horn (see photos). I do believe, after inspecting this horn closely, that these are protective patches and not covering any holes. There is some evidence of bell repair on the flare, and there are a few small dings in the horn, but nothing bad.
 
No water keys are on this horn, but if you want one installed, just write me when you buy the horn. Installation is a non-refundable $75 for a brand new Amado key.
