This beautiful 900,000 series Elkhart 8D was my personal horn for many years from my senior year of high school all the way through my undergraduate degree in horn performance. It has been a fantastic horn for me. While it is sad to see it go, it is also time for it to find a new home. I have since bought a much more expensive horn and simply do not use this horn much anymore. It is still a fantastic Elkhart, and whoever ends up with this horn will have a gem!
 
This horn is in great shape. It has had a full valve rebuild (by Chuck Ward, about 4 or so years ago), two amado water keys installed, a cut bell, it is unlacquered, and it has also had the old mechanical thumb linkage replaced with a much more efficient, quieter string linkage. This horn has been professionally maintained and serviced regularly since I purchased it my senior year of high school (2018). It has been recently serviced in my shop and is ready to play!
 
Being such an old horn, there are some minor dings and scratches, but certainly nothing bad at all. The biggest thing is a small solder patch on the bell tail where I got a super tiny crack filled in after accidentally tripping and knocking the horn into a stand. The solder patch was professionally done and the dent VERY carefully removed from the bell to the point where you almost can't tell a dent was ever there.
