The Holton H179 is a good horn in and of itself, but this particular horn has been upgraded with a Cantesanu leadpipe. These leadpipes are known to make horns play significantly better. The leadpipe upgrade on this H179 certainly did not disappoint! The horn has certainly been improved in every way (better slurs, articulations, power, easier high and low registers) but I think that the most improved part of this horn with this leadpipe was the low register. It really has some power behind it! The horn is easy to play, and has an even sound in all the registers. The tuning is great as well. This really is a fantastic horn!
 
I also stripped the lacquer on this horn and modified some of the bracing on the horn as well (mainly removing braces that were purely structural but seemed to deaden the sound a little). The valves have excellent compression, and everything works as it should. All that to say, this horn has really been upgraded, and is ready for life in the hands of a great player!
 
There are a few very minor dings on the horn, but nothing significant. The horn has been completely cleaned and serviced here in my shop, and is ready to play!
 
The original case (in good used condition) is included. It works great and protects the horn well. There is one spot on the outside where the cloth is starting to peel a little, but this is normal and it is not affecting the functionality of the case.
 
No mouthpiece is included with the horn, but if you need a mouthpiece, I can send a standard used one (Holton MC or similar) with the horn. Just let me know when you order it.
