It isn't too often that you see a Holton made Geyer horn! This is a Holton H190 with a large bell (hence the "LB" in front of H190). These aren't too common of horns. But this one certainly is a good player! It has a big, orchestral sound, plays easily, and is overall a great playing horn.
I like the playing characteristics of this horn. It has nice slurs, the articulations are clean, and all of the notes slot well. This really is a great horn overall. I will say that if you tend to want to use alternate fingerings in the middle register of the horn (middle C-F, for instance) then you may have to force yourself back into the traditional F horn fingerings. But if you are playing the "normal fingerings" as your common practice, this should not be a problem.
The valves have pretty good compression, the slides all work properly, the horn has been professionally cleaned and serviced with the valves aligned. This horn is ready to play!
Of course this horn has some scars from use. There are minor dents and dings throughout the horn, as well as pretty heavy lacquer wear and pitting. There are also some aftermarket parts that the previous owner replaced here and there. The most obvious is the change valve cap - it is a different valve cap than the rest of the valve caps. All that said, these are all purely cosmetic issues, and have nothing to do with how the horn plays.
Included is the original case in decent used condition. It will carry well and protect the horn, but it does have some scuffs and tears from use. No mouthpiece is included.
