A video demonstration of this horn can be seen here.
This horn is in amazing condition for its age! While it is not super common to see an Olds O45 (certainly not as common as a Conn 6D, which is a very similar horn), it is much less common to see one in this condition! This horn is basically mint. There are a couple tiny dings on the horn an a few small scratches, but the lacquer is 99.99% perfect. I took the horn apart and it was essentially spotless inside. Pure brass. You don't see that very often!
This model of horn, like I mentioned earlier, is very similar (though not identical) to the Conn 6D. The biggest difference visually is the fact that there is only one F branch tuning slide on the O45 while the 6D F branch is wrapped a little larger and has two tuning slides. This particular O45 also has an interchangeable slide. The other slide puts the horn in Eb.
This horn is in amazing condition. I will say that the valves, though they don't have a scratch on them and are very quiet, don't have perfect compression. I think they probably came from the factory this way. The horn still has good compression, just not perfect. The horn plays great. I did find that a smaller backbore mouthpiece (in my case a Houser 16-0-2) played the horn better than my normal setup (a Houser 14-0-2). A Holton MC should do the trick if you don't want to buy something more expensive.
Included is the original case in amazing condition for its age as well as the original Olds mouthpiece.
