This is a really cool old Reynolds Contempora FE-01. This horn is engraved with the letters U.S.N, which stands for United States Navy. So I do believe this horn was originally made for the Navy. But I don't believe it got played much, if at all. When I got the horn, it was perfectly clean on the inside, and all the valves looked brand new. But the 4th rotor would not spin even after being oiled and lubed properly. It had never been lapped in properly. So I lapped the valve in. It is likely this horn was never played, but simply got moved around in storage.
 
This horn has great valves - they all have excellent compression. All the slides work properly as well. This horn has been professionally cleaned, serviced, and playested. It is ready to play!
 
I did have to remove some dents from the bell tail of the horn, as well as some wrinkles from the flare so there is evidence of dent removal there. There is also some minor lacquer wear where the dents and wrinkles were. None of this hurts how the horn plays, it just is cosmetic.
 
 
The serial number of this horn is 250899.
 
A generic, older used case is included. Unfortunately it is not the original case, but it does work well and protect the horn well. No mouthpiece is included, but I can include a generic mouthpiece for free if you contact me at purchase.
